In 1998 Sherilyn made her first quilt. She really had no idea what she was doing but just knew she wanted a king size scrappy quilt for her bed. After gathering her own old clothes, she then gathered her neighbors old clothes until she had enough for her quilt. She pieced it, hand quilted it, and used it until it wore out. She didn’t even care that her points didn’t match! That first quilt was the beginning of her love affair with quilting.
Over the years she has polished and fine tuned her quilting skills. Sherilyn is passionate about pattern designing and long-arm quilting and shares this passion with two of her sisters, Jenny Pedigo and Helen Robinson. A few years ago Sherilyn bought her first long-arm, a Gammill classic. She took to long-arm quilting very quickly and naturally. Her love, excitement and passion for quilting has multiplied since discovering the magical world of long-arm quilting. She believes it is definitely the icing on the cake when it comes to creating a quilted work of art. Since discovering her new found passion of long-arm quilting, she’s often heard saying “I’ll piece anything just so I can quilt it!” Sherilyn is a Gammill Quilt Artist and thoroughly enjoys working closely with the great people at Gammill!
