Heather is a seamstress and a mother. She started to sew in high when she started refashioning everything she could. Then she went to college where she learned clothing construction. She also worked at a tailor shop and learned how to alter and fit clothing after it’s finished. While her husband was in law school she used sewing to save money while having young children around.
Heather loves to sew her own wardrobe and to teach others how to sew. She enjoys the empowerment that comes from making something with her own hands and finds it really inspiring to see others find this joy. She uses her sewing blog, heatherhandmade.com, to spread the love of sewing and believes anyone can do it if they just try.
She’s also a self-proclaimed fabric fondler and can often be found touching beautiful fabric.
